About the Artist

Cheryl Hoople

Cheryl Hoople has worked as a newspaper journalist, business writer, instructional designer, and award-winning author. Several of her books received an American Library Association Notable Book of the Year Award and the Children’s Book of the Year Award from the Child Study Association. Cheryl later renewed her interest in art, studying with nationally known artists George James and Ted Nuttall, as well as local artists Kay Barnes, Ann Breckon, and William Hewson. Her art has appeared in Northwest juried shows and is included in private and public art collections.

"Of all the elements and principles in art, my relationship with color is the most capricious. I would say that the only constant in my paintings is my desire to use the most audacious, exciting, and evocative color combination I can."
